May 1, 2017 Email

Hey everyone!!!!

Chai it's already May!!!  Next thing you know it'll be November!!!!!

So just a little about the week!!!!!  So to start the week we had an exchange with the Assistants to the President on Tuesday!!  I went with Elder Herrod and Koetting went with Elder Sakala, I got to chill in the car haha!!!

We saw a lot of people in their area, but my few favorites were seeing a lady and having a rasta man help us teach haha!!! So rasta man is a black guy with long hair, he's a recent convert of one of the missionaries before.  His name is Robert but everyone calls him Rasta haha!!!  So we saw him and then we went to another investigator outside of our mission.  He's a special referral from President to go and teach him.  He works at a place known as the Art Market.  That place is where missionaries visit before they return home, so I'll be there in about 7 months.  They have tons of cool stuff there and it was just sweet!!!!!  His name was Kwazi by the way.  We saw a man that really showed me what faith and resistance was.  His name is Jude, he is an investigator of the APs and he was into smoking; when we went there we talked to him and he said he wanted to stop smoking for good.  We took the last of his cigarettes and threw them away with him.  Chai it was amazing!!!!!  We saw a few more people and then changed back.  Koetting and I left for our area that night.

So as for the rest of the week.  Wednesday we had DCM and that was nice.  We saw a few people but my best for that day was probably Patience.  She contacted us and she seems super interested in the gospel so hopefully that will work out.  We came back and found Ekosomi in the apartment.  He's the zone leader and he went on exchange with Seninde.

Now Thursday was just crazy!!!!!!  We saw a lot of people and we just walked for what seemed like forever!!!!!  So we started in one part of our area and then moved to a far part of our area!!!  We did a lot of walking and what I liked was that we met a guy named Richard.  He read from the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet we gave him and he had some questions about the Book of Mormon.  It was sweet to tell him about it!!!  We then saw an annoying guy named Papa Yaw, but there was a cut little girl named Acose who loves to see white people haha!!!  So yeah that was that day.

Friday was interesting.  We saw some people in Awoshi and that was fun.  Patience is sweet cuz she read from the start of the Book of Mormon all the way through to the explanation of the Book of Mormon, chai no investigator has done that before!!!!!(at least not in our area lol)  So we saw her and then went to Maxwell.  Everything is chill with them getting ready for baptism.

Saturday was just a bummer lol.  We saw a girl named Hagar.  She has the name of the concubine of Abraham so it was odd seeing her haha!!!!  Through the day we were coming to a far part when Koetting's bike broke on us.  We walked around for a long time and saw some members.

Now Sunday. . .so it first started off with us trying to pick a guy up for church and we ended up standing in the hot sun for a long time.  We finally got a taxi and decided to go to the Stake Conference in Kaneshi.  We got there and we saw President Simpson. . .us walking in late doesn't help our case haha!!!  So we had Maxwell come to the conference so that was just amazing and I think he really liked it!!  We came back and were invited to Bishop's house for food, so obviously we went haha!!!!  So we got there and they fed us ride and spaghetti.  We sang and I asked Bishop about skyping, this is because last Christmas we used his tablet to Skype.  I asked him if he had a web cam and a program disk and he had it so I'll talk to him about skyping on the 14th of May; we'll see how it goes!!!!

Hope you all are doing amazing back home, and I hope I'll have the chance to talk to you all soon!!!!

Be safe and stay AMAZING!!!!!

Love,
Elder Stockton Smith
