April 17, 2017 Email

So that was a stressful half hour!!!!  So I was on a crappy computer so I wasn't able to type anything so now I'm on a good one!!!

I'm staying in Anyaa for good!!!!  or at least for the next 9 weeks haha!!!  Since Koetting is leaving I will still be in Anyaa and I will receive a new companion and I will lead him in the area.

So, in a nutshell of a week . . . So we started off strong with seeing a few new people this week.  We are seeing a man named Ransford and he's pretty cool.  We hare hoping to extend to him a baptismal date and he is pretty interested in the Book of Mormon and the Priesthood authority so that's amazing!  We are seeing a girl named Priscilla and she's cool.  She had read all the things we have given her but we haven't had a lot of time for us to see her so that's a bummer.  We are teaching a girl named Lizzy and she's ok.  She's stubborn and asks us stupid non-relevant questions.  We are having a lot of fun meeting new people in the area.

Our District is just a complaining district!!!!!  So we have this guy named Chimbunde and a guy named Thomas and they don't like doing anything we ask them to.  We literally have to baby them just so they continue to work, but that's a challenge of being a missionary and a challenge in life.  We went on exchange on Thursday and I went with Elder Kapata.  Elder Kapata is from DR Congo and it was pretty ok.  So, he's not like my other companion from there at all and he's pretty chill when it comes to teaching and switching off teaching.  It was nice to work with him and to see how everything is going.

So a weird Easter fact in Ghana!!!!!!  So, it was like a Catholic church or something like that but it was on Friday that we were in the Market when this church was doing a re-enactment of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.  This guy was dressed up as Jesus Christ and he was carrying a wooden cross and people were "whipping" him and people were just weird about it!  So yeah that's pretty weird haha!!!!  We had interviews with President Simpson and he told me that I will continue to be in Anyaa when Koetting leaves so we will have to enjoy before he goes haha!!!  We had 3 people at church on Sunday and one of them was new.  His name is Maxwell and it was his first time attending the church, it was pretty sweet!!!!!  We had Azuma come again and a sister named Ivy came.  We are just making incredible progress with Anyaa and it's amazing!!!!

Well things are crazy here and I can't wait to hear from you all!!!!!!  I love you all, Happy Easter, and stay AMAZING!!!!!

Love,
Elder Stockton Smith
