March 27, 2017 Email

Hey everyone!!!!

Chai this week has been interesting, but we'll get to that later haha!!!!!  So to start the week, we now have a bright new missionary in the field, only difference is that she's in Nigeria!!!!!

See, her  name is Kezia and she was a member here in Anyaa.  She was so cool to us, she made us food, she worked with us when we could get her, and it was just fun to work with her.  She received her mission call about a month ago and she is now in the MTC.  After we got done emailing all of you last Monday, we were invited to a Family Home Evening with them.  We were there and shared our testimonies and things like that.  It was a little stressful when they focused on us full time missionaries at the moment, but it was nice to let her know of the amazing blessings she has in store for her.  I know for myself that if I didn't come on mission, I wouldn't be the person I am today, and that is amazing in and of itself!!!!!!

So as for this week with a bunch of crazy stuff all packed into one!!!!  On Tuesday we visited some people around a main part of our area called Anyaa Market.  We saw Kobby (a recent convert who was baptized just small time ago) and we are seeing another Kobby, Emmanuel Kobby that is haha!!!!  Emmanuel was a referral from a member and we have been visiting with him for a little bit.  He works in a sewing shop and he is pretty cool.  He enjoys seeing us and it's pretty sweet to teach him.  We then went to another area called Paradise Jamestown.  We met with a member there named Nunoo.  We have a man there named Azuma.  Azuma has been working with us and we are just teaching him whenever we have time to go out there.  He accepted a baptismal date for April 30th!!!!!  Chai that's amazing!!!!!!  Well, it was sweet being there, and then we were fed food from Bro. Nunoo.

We had a Multi-Zone Conference!!!!!!!!!!  It was amazing!!!!!!!!!  I saw Wallin, McFarland, Ben, and a ton of other missionaries there!!!!!!  It's crazy to see how much we have all grown on mission from when I last saw them!  So we received some cool instruction from President Simpson about recognizing the Holy Ghost, finding investigators, and "sailing against the wind".  Sailing against the wind really taught me that I'm gonna put up with annoying and stubborn people in my life, why?  Cuz I was with a companion that I absolutely did not like at all!!!!!  Well, that's life for you!  Just gotta take it on a swing and keep moving forward!!!!! After that we saw some people.

Thursday we went around and saw some people in the market.  We met some people who are progressing, but it's just difficult to see who is the elect sometimes.  We met with a man named Maxwell and he is doing well.  We just finished teaching him about the Plan of Salvation.  He was really interested with the information on what happens to us after we die, it was super cool!  Then we came home to light off [power out]. . .we thought it was doomsday, but it turns out that we were having electrical difficulties with the lines so we were having over-voltage.  The light [power] would come on and off all the time in a few days so it just sucked haha!!!!

Friday we saw a few people and yeah.  Saturday was interesting though.  We met a person named Mercy and chai she is prepared for the gospel!!!!!  She read the whole Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet and she had a lot of questions!  Only upset is that she doesn't stay in our area!!!  We hope to continue teaching her and yeah.  We later found some kids and played football with them, so that was fun haha!!!  That night we got light back!!!!

Sunday was a bit of a let down.  We had Sister Emefa at the church, and luckily we had her there for her baptismal interview.  We had the Zone Leaders come and interview her.  We then had a problem of people hitting on Emefa!!!!!!  She is basically engaged and yet people don't think that, they just dive in and she isn't helping!!!!! It's just crazy so yeah haha!!!!!

We have General Conference this next week, so we are going to do everything we can to have people come and listen to the words of the prophet and his apostles!!!!!  I can remember last year when Elder Wallin and I went to Kasua to view the conference, chai that was so long ago, but at the time time so short!!!!!

Well, hope you all are doing amazing!!!!!  Don't forget, ALWAYS STAY AMAZING!!!!!!!

Love,
Elder Stockton Smith
